American Entertainment Timeline
American entertainment is a wide topic to discuss and many people have taken inspiration from the growth that American entertainment has experienced. The first form of entertainment goes back in 4000 B.C when there were only games to get entertained. A Babylonian board game used to be played which is considered to be ancestor of checkers and chess. Then in 3000 B.C, first game resembling to Backgammon was introduced. Stone marbles were used in ancient Egypt which was introduced in United States in 1800s. Slowly and gradually more technical games were introduced and this way the industry of American entertainment in terms of games evolved.
Television was introduced in the 20th century. This invention amazed many audiences all over the globe. Before World War II took place, Television was introduced. It became quite a popular broadcast medium in industries as it was something innovative and provided the audiences with live entertainment at home without ever going to cinema or any other venue. In the New York’s world fair, the television was displayed for the people for
the very first time. People were so amazed to see this invention which could feature the people themselves in motion who belong to just about any part of the world. The American entertainment timeline is greatly dependent upon the television because the progress in the live TV shows has helped the entertainment industry to generate a lot of revenue and make the industry stand out among the other competitors in the rest of the world. Initially there were 4 networks of Television. ABC, NBC, CBS and DuMont network. Now there are thousands of TV channels and their networks which you can subscribe to and get full on entertainment by sitting at home.
Cartoons have always been popular to entertain the children. Walt Disney, who was not a good student in his school, developed very new and innovative cartoon characters and gave them names. He established his own entertainment and cartoon empire which is still in his name. It all started in 1920s when Mickey Mouse came into existence and kids absolutely loved him. Later on Mini Mouse, Donald Duck and other characters were developed. In 1955, Disney opened a theme park of cartoons in California. Now there is Disneyland in Florida as well as California. Today there are Disney radio and TV channels.
Music and holidays have always been popular since the entertainment in the middle ages and medieval times was introduced. Earlier Knights used to fight and provide people with entertainment. The music used to be classic and slow. If we have a look at entertainment in 1920s and in 1940s, new and innovative forms of music were introduced. Jazz, Rock, Rhythm and Rock and Roll were the popular forms of music. Teenagers and adults really appreciated this change and the entertainment industry flourished.
